Just a quickie post to confirm that we are afloat! Adamastor is indeed back in the water after what must have been 2 full years on the hard standing (under a tree, with her sails left on etc…). We have been living aboard since Wednesday.

New Harken roller furler for the headsail has been put on (thank god for boatshow discounts), all new standing rigging has gone on, plus the backstay has been setup for our SSB radio antenna. Our mainsail valeting came out beautifully and is now gleaming white rather than green. The engine is still being worked on, we needed a new heat exchanger which has been fitted. Our tireless engineer, Steve, is still working through the myriad pipes and tubes within, trying to rationalise everything and strip out the redundant systems. We are nearly there though. Gas safety check man has given us the all clear so cups of tea and bacon sarnies are now being served 🙂

We are now set up on our new home on the Eastern pontoon at Mylor Yacht Harbour where we are enjoying the credit on our account to use the shore power to test everything (hot water check, cd player working, essential stuff!) and work our way through all the electric and electronic gizmos.

Plus we’ve already welcomed our first boat guest and caught our first fish (3 mackerel and 2 mystery fish).

More on that in photos to be uploaded soon. And yes, it is dead cushy to have wifi as I sit at the saloon table!
